It's Thursday, it's throwback time and who is best to feature than mah very own Apple Bloom, who recently just got her cutie mark! ♡ ✰ ❀ Ah'm so proud of mah little sister now growing up and ah couldn't be more happier! ❤ ❤
~ ~ ~ She still hasn't any cutie mark in the photo as this was taken earlier this year (March) but definitely will have another Apple Bloom with her shiny new cutie mark soon! ~ ~ ~

Cosplay Facts: Trivia
Wa-hey! Busy week to be working~ So much excitement going on and I
just can't contain!! ☼ ~ So let's start this week with some trivial fun
facts! ♪ ♫
Here are four cosplay that I have done so far, and these four characters have so much in common! No, I did not intentionally do these, it just happened haha \\(>0<)//
I'll call them by first name: Serenity (Sailor Moon), Emeraude (Magic Knight Rayearth), Celestia (My Little Pony), and Celestia (Shining Tears X Wind).
Here are four cosplay that I have done so far, and these four characters have so much in common! No, I did not intentionally do these, it just happened haha \\(>0<)//
I'll call them by first name: Serenity (Sailor Moon), Emeraude (Magic Knight Rayearth), Celestia (My Little Pony), and Celestia (Shining Tears X Wind).
~ 1. Names aside, all of
them are royalty: from princess status to queen. Well at least that's
how their dominance and role in the story are. Emeraude had been called
Princess but we all know she is the only ruling power over Cefiro, which
makes her like the Queen already; the same goes for Celestia (MLP) but
since the return of Luna, the ruling power were split, so Celestia can't
entirely be called Queen. Serenity became Queen in the 21st Century
Moon Kingdom. Only Celestia of Shining Tears was referred to as Queen
from the beginning of the series.
~ 2. Character: Obviously very royal and fine and elegant and soft and fine and royal, wait I already said that,... and magically powerful! \\(^0^)//
~ 3. The base dress I used for Serenity (SM), Emeraude (MKR), and Celestia (MLP) is one and the same! Oh yeaaah~~~ ╰☆╮ Emeraude's puff sleeves were made into what you see Celestia is wearing now. But I can still use the same dress to re-cosplay either of them anytime. I love how flexible the dress had become! ♡
~ 4. Except for Celestia (MLP), the rest were blonde. Makes me want to think her original color was also blonde, but nah, it was really light pink (as based on the illustrations and head cannon theories).
~ 5. Now we are talking about hair color, Emeraude (MKR), Celestia (MLP), and Celestia (STXW) used the same wig! Except that I already dyed it multi-colored for Celestia (MLP).
I hope I inspired you with these cosplay trivia. I feel that I kind of cheated with these cosplays because I just used the same materials, sort of recycled the costume, but not entirely. We cosplayers should also know how to be resourceful and creative with what we have~ Cosplaying isn't a cheap hobby after all!

I got to have photos with~! Super cute Ponyo and a chibi Black Widow!! ACiD's Hobbies as Vanellope, Dinny Grayson as Elsa, and on my way out to go home I bumped into Calypso Giovanni in her casual Aqua ^^,
I spent my entire time there walking around and that I have seen and met a lot of people, I was so happyyyy!!! :D It is so good to see friends again!! It's weird but I felt like I really missed all of you. I know I see your faces and get to chat with online but it's really different seeing friends for reals and get to hugs for reals!
~~~ So posted this just now, I have been sick of late since Toycon, and I haven't even unpacked my cosplay bag then, haha XD There's so much to catch up with, hopefully I get them all done before new tasks get added. *crosses fingers* Cheers!

Four days after NexCon 2: Heroes Rising

I started on this cosplay in 2011, I actually decided to drop this plan already until Nekomi Kasai asked me to join their group~~ Such overwhelming feeling to be cosplaying old, classic anime and bringing back childhood memories and fandom!! Thank you so much dear groupmates! ♡ ♡

NEXCON is by far the best convention I have attended for a long time! Half the people I saw and met there were people I know and familiar with that it almost felt to me like a special reunion of friendships! I'm sorry I couldn't "Hi" to everyone. I was late to arrive. I haven't been in such large crowd with familiar faces. I was awkward. I kept forgetting names... But each person I met is vibrating with their love for the fandom, and everything was simply fantastic!!! m(◕‿◕)m
I didn't get a photo with the Tardis. Well, that's one more thing to look forward to for Nexcon next year! I'd definitely attend even not in cosplay, but simply to hang out with friends and geek some more. ~ XD

Judea's 7th Royal Coronation Day Ball
It was a super super royal and princess-y party I've ever been
privileged to attend as Princess Anna and Winter Doll as Queen Elsa,
with Olaf!!!
All the lovely girls in their beautiful best princess dresses, and charming boys in knight and prince suits. They are all so oh adorable!!! They wouldn't stop hugging Olaf~
And Princess Judea was very sweet and nice, truly blessed with such a beautiful family. ^_^

Done with the cloak's detailing and also adjusted the collar height - I lost my neck the last few events haha!! XD Eeeep! There's a cat in le photo hahah (meiaoww) Also my boots yay!!! Painting was fun~!!
Gonna be wearing these at a super cool (get that??!) and Frozen birthday party today! :)

Lagoona Blue: Black Carpet Dress
Hey Ghouls!
As we all know, we simply can't find the exact fabric for Monster High dresses/outfits in fabric stores. There are fabrics with similar prints, but not the exact likeness.
So I'm sharing how I made the prints on Lagoona's Black Carpet dress.
I chose a light pink base fabric, cut the patterns and half-sewn them together before painting. I used acrylic paint and mixed my own paint closest to the color in all references (doll, illustration, movie stills). After drawing the pattern on the fabric, I painted all the parts by color: first light teal and then black. It took me 6 hours to finish painting two layers of paint on each color.
When the paint dried, I finished sewing the dress; adding the sleeves, the two-layered skirts, and zipper. Then I added the silver dots using Tulip Metallics Fabric paint.
And yes, using acrylic paint CAN make the fabric stiff. What I usually do is hang the painted pieces for about a week for the paint to dry properly and then I soak it in a tub of water + fabric conditioner mix for 30 minutes to an hour, constantly checking because soaking it too long might cause the paint to chip off. Acrylic brands I use are Tulco, Folkart, and Tulip. If you can get hold of fabric paint, YES much much better! Textile/fabric paint is best for fabric especially stretchy ones.
