I was stressed and rushed that morning knowing that I still need to attach the sleeves to the shoulder rings and the robe together. I was partly exasperated. It seems to me like everything was uncooperative - even the thread in the needle won't get threaded; and the one needle gotten broken while drilling an extra hole on my sandals; and that the needles I had already threaded with green and yellow thread kept on getting misplaced. I was glad that Tita Maya volunteered to make the skirt for me while also altering some skrit/dress for my mom and other things to be tended about. It was also a good idea to wear the skirt and the bra on the way to the con. I was able to fix the fitting - especially the bra! Just imagine if I have not fitted it first before going to the con, and it would dangerously fall off! *woo scary* There were so many things I have not been able to prepare and focus on my costume but somehow I managed to get all parts done and none missing! To think I made them by hand, well, besides the cutting of the pattern of the robe and the skirt.
I left at about past 12:30 after lunch. I was feeling quite nervous by this time, wondering if I will be able to make it before 2PM, though from past experience I had always made it to Ortigas in one and a half hour. I received a text from Mel (who cosplayed as Karis by the way) asking about directions and informing me that there was heavy traffic along EDSA. I decided then to get off at MRT North Edsa Station and take a cab. I had no idea how bad the traffic was! The cab took a detour but still took me two hours to get to Megamall. It was a crazy ride.
I was relieved that when I got there, Mel told me that our skit will be at 5:30PM. It was a very very BIG sigh of relief!! So I distributed the wigs for Karis, Clalaclan, and Yuuna then got dressed myself. I was to wear green contacts for the day but I wasn't able to do so in my haste to leave the house early. Well, next time I will ;) Also, my make-up was blah. I don't even have any green eye shadow to at least make my eyes look green.
This is the first time I cosplayed alone, by myself, without my close friends, nor family, not even Tim. It had to do with the date. My parents are here but at my sister's graduation; Tim has work; close friends at the E-Games Domination event (hmmm next time I'll make an EG character costume har!). Even so, I still went knowing that I won't have my usual "PA"s. It was an experience and a challenge I wanted to try out and see if it works for me. It wasn't like I was a total loner. Aya was there and cosplayed as Houmei. She was the one who invited me to the group, and is very nice and supportive~ Actually, we get along very very well when it comes to cosplay secrecy and wigs.
I know I have looked so distant and quiet. [ Sorry guys T~T ] I am not snobbish or anything, just a bit overwhelmed with a new big group. It has been a long while since I cosplayed and part of a group. [ But me likes you all~ ] Just that. I know Aya introduced each member, but it's my problem with name-face recognition thing. So, I keep looking at the photos from the event and hoped that the names I associated with the faces are correct. And the next time I meet them, either at a con or elsewhere, I wouldn't be "snobbing" because I forgot their name+face.
We stayed mostly in a more secluded and quieter place afar from Megatrade Hall, and only went to the venue proper when it was about time for the Group Cosplay Competition. I noticed that not a lot of people recognized us but it is alright. We all looked good together and had so much fun, though I didn't talk that much. I am shy lolz. I couldn't say much about the event proper for I had no time to wander about and look at the booths and observe con goers and cosplayers alike as I used to. Heck, I didn't even get to see other cosplayers until it was time for the skit ha ha, but on stage, I did notice there was still a big crowd gathered to watch cosplayers do their thing, and that is wonderful enough despite rising cosplay-related and event issues. Such spirited enthusiasts!
Alright, enough with the talk. Let's proceed with the photos~! TEH PHOTO TIEMS NAO!

My costume needs some minor alterations. Mostly tightening the fitting and making the straps more secure. I will discuss the details more on a later post. Right now I just can't believe how long it took me to make this post. Four hours. @_@
